I tried.. I really did…
I was going to try and pack ALL the information, education, fun, and amazing times all in one post and video.. but I just couldn’t do it…
There’s WAY to much to share!!
Here’s a quick video I put together about our first day. It was an AMAZING day and evening filled with tons of wonderful Disney magic.
After you watch the video.. I’ll give you a little bit more detail of the days/evenings events.
After checking in and getting settled into our gorgeous room, my family and I took a stroll around the Grand Floridian property. This place is a throw back to yesteryears, when families vacationed together in big fancy hotels by the beachside. Boy.. Disney did not miss a thing when it came to making you feel ‘away from it all’ while staying here.
In the early evening, I bid my family goodbye, and headed over to the Disney Wedding Pavilion. Here we celebrated alongside Disney as they celebrated their 20 years of Weddings. We learned a little of the history of Disney’s Wedding Pavilion and were also treated to hearing all about what Disney has planned for future wedding events. From destination weddings to beautiful Disney Princess inspired dresses.. no on does weddings like Disney.
Here’s some fast, fun facts about Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings & Honeymoons
Traditionally recognized as a top-ranked wedding and honeymoon destination, Walt Disney World Resort currently hosts more than 1,000 couples tying the knot each year. Beyond Disney’s Wedding Pavilion, nuptials at Walt Disney World Resort also take place in outdoor garden settings, gazebos and courtyards, as well as indoor resort locations.
Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings & Honeymoons celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2011. All told, more than 40,000 couples have married at Walt Disney World Resort, Disneyland and aboard Disney Cruise Line since Fairy Tale Weddings began in 1991.
In celebration of the 20th anniversary, a specially priced wedding package, the Memories Collection, has been created at Walt Disney World Resort. Priced at $1,991 in honor of the 1991 opening year of Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings, the Memories Collection includes up to six guests, including the couple, a floral bouquet for the bride, solo violinist, transportation (three-hour limousine charter) and a professional photographer for one hour. It is being offered for 20 months.
Couples have traveled from every state in the United States and from international locations such as Japan, Saudi Arabia, United Kingdom, Germany and the Netherlands to get married at Walt Disney World Resort.
The first wedding at Disney’s Wedding Pavilion was televised live June 18, 1995, on Lifetime Television as part of its “Weddings of a Lifetime” series.
In December 2010, Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings & Honeymoons launched Ever After Blog (DisneyWeddingsBlog.com), the first Disney blog outside of the Disney Parks Blog.
My Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings Site (apps.facebook.com/disney-weddings) allows couples to announce their wedding from day one, track RSVPs and provide itinerary and resort information for their guests.
After all the wedding fun, we headed back over to the white sandy beaches of the Grand Floridian and met back up with our families for a Beach BBQ!
It was an AMAZING start to the Social Media Event and I truly feel very humbled and blessed to have been able to take part in it all.
