Don’t you just love the blessing of a good friendship?
When we moved to FL about 4 years ago, my biggest prayer was that God would provide good, godly friendships for my girls. Moving them away from the town they were born and raised in was hard.
My youngest is a lot like me. She’s easy going, likes new adventures, and is always up to trying something new. My oldest on the other hand likes things to stay the same. Likes to be firmly planted somewhere with things she’s comfortable with around her.
For the first year it was hard. While our house was being built, their stuff was packed up in storage making a ‘normal’ life even harder. But eventually we moved into our home and we found a great youth group. Since then, my girls have made some great friends , and I think, finally starting to feel like FL is home.
I especially love the ones I can be a goof with. The ones that will crank up the 80’s music with me in the car and sing out loud and off key with me. The one who you can get to crack up while they are on the phone by sliding down an aisle Risky Business style while some funky music plays at Office Depot.
Like the ones who call you up and share something that they’ve been keeping to themselves, but know that they can trust you enough to love them no matter what and pray for them at a moments notice.
These are the kinds of friends that I’ve been blessed with here, and I am so VERY thankful for them all.
