For over 8 years now we have had the wonderful opportunity to share the monetary blessings that God gives with a David. David lives in Tanzania and is our sponsor child through Compassion International.
It has been so amazing for our family to be able to share our life through letters and pictures with David. We have watched him grow up from a little 5 year old boy, into a young man who loves his family and prays for us on a daily basis.
Sponsoring David has opened our eyes to the extreme needs of children all over the world. Every year Compassion sends out a letter encouraging sponsors to hold a Compassion Sunday at their church. In the years passed, we never took this opportunity, but God had different plans this year.
During a random conversation one day, I shared with my youngest princess about the latest letter I received from Compassion. I told her it was about the Compassion Sundays and explained what they were. This IMMEDIATELY got her attention and she asked if this was something she could do. I encouraged her to talk to our pastor and see what they thought.
We are TRULY blessed to be sitting under a shepherd who truly follows and seeks God’s leading and invites the Holy Spirit to guide and direct the church.
When he spoke with our princess, he was VERY EXCITED! He immediately took her under his wing and helped her plan it out. Not only were they going to do ONE Compassion Sunday, but THREE WEEKENDS of Compassion!!
Our church has a Saturday evening and a Sunday Morning service. So, with the help and guidance of our pastor (and a little help from me – and I mean little ) my princess has been spear heading Compassion Weekends at our church.
I am SOO proud of her. So far 5 children have found new sponsors and many people are praying over which child they would like to sponsor!
She has been doing an INCREDIABLE job!! She has a tender spot for young children, especially those hurting and needing help.
I am truly in Awe of what she has been doing. She’s showing leadership, obedience, Faith, Hope, and most of all LOVE.
Here is a video that I took of her when she addressed our church body the first evening. She did a GREAT job and she wasn’t even nervous!!
I’m such a Proud Mama!!
