Earth Day is coming up in just a few short weeks. April 22nd to be exact.
Do you celebrate Earth Day?
Here at our house I can’t say that we set aside time on any specific day to ‘honor’ the earth, but every day we thank God for allowing us to live in such a beautiful place and try to honor Him with taking care of what He has blessed us with.
Part of taking care of what we are given for us as a family is doing as much organic gardening and landscaping as we possibly can. We’re surrounded by such beauty and amazingly yummy vegetables, we realized we don’t want to ruin that by spreading chemicals all over it. Especially when we don’t have to.
So when Cascadian Farm contacted me and asked me to help spread the word about eating organic foods.. I was quick to say ‘oh yea..sign me up!’.
Here is a picture of what we’ve got growing in our organic garden this spring:
We’ve got potatoes, green beans, cucumbers, lettuce, radishes, cabbage, squash, zucchini, and lots more.
And it’s all organic!
Growing an organic garden really isn’t that hard. More and more stores are carrying organic seeds, bug sprays, and just about anything you need to get started.
Cascadian Farm wants to help spread the word about organic goodness. It’s heath benefits and also how it helps protect the earth. Cascadian Farm mission is simple:
And to help encourage and inspire you to go organic, Cascadian Farm has put together and AMAZING bag of Organic goodies for one lucky winner.
I took some of the coupons I received and got myself a couple bags of the Cascadian Farm Harvest Blend frozen fruit bags at our local store.
With some organic apples that I purchased I was able to mix all the fruit together and make a DELICIOUS fruit cobbler – topped with some Cascadian Farm granola. OH MY it was yummy!
