Yesterday I took a break from my reading the bible chronologically to start doing a study in Titus. It’s fitting that I started this at the same time that At the Well kicked off their new site.
Today’s personal reading took me to Titus 2.
I knew going into this chapter that it was going to be a ‘shaping’ time for me. What I mean is that it was going to be a time where God starts pushing, prodding, sculpting, and breaking things in my life to shape me more into His image. I don’t always ‘enjoy’ times like that, but I know that He makes beautiful things out of messes.
After reading through Titus 2, I pulled up my e-sword program to look up some deeper meanings of some words. The ” keepers at home ” wording seems to always be a stumbling block for some people. I personally have always found a sweet confirmation in those words as to where I am supposed to be. Yet today I found another meaning to it that I have never noticed before.
I have written in a couple past entries that I’m working more on becoming better at being a Domestic Engineer. It was one job that I was GREAT at in the beginning, but lately I have let this area of my life become neglected.
But God is at work. He has been impressing on my heart over the past couple months that I need to get back on the ‘keepers at home’ trail. He has even used this funny little definition to spur me into action.
So today I take a new step in getting back to being DOMESTICALLY INCLINED!
