My aim for this blog was to have a place where I can share some fun things – like all the fun deals and coupons I find, but also I wanted it to be a place where I can focus on sharing the amazing walk it is in following God and His leading in raising His Princesses – our daughters.
Last year was a great year for focusing on Biblical womanhood. We read some awesome books and had great couch discussions. This year has been a little different.
Because of our year long focus on Geography, we have been spending our reading time reading about missionaries. This has been eye opening for all of us, but seems to have left a hole where there once was great growth in us when it came to womanhood.
Focus and Refocus
So I need to refocus. I need to figure out – pray over – how I can fit in both our missionary reading and our Biblical Womanhood studies. The years with my princesses are growing shorter. What I mean is that though they may be with us for still quiet awhile, it seems that the time for instruction and influence is growing smaller.
I’ve looked at it this way:
When they were babies – I walked in front of them, showing them where to go, shielding and protecting them from danger, and teaching them with each step.
As they are teenagers now – I walk beside them, still teaching but more discussion then direct commands, still protecting but allowing them to seek on their own.
And as they become adults – it will be a time to watch them walk on their own, offering advice and instruction when asked, praying always, but allowing God to protect and provide.
So the time is growing short. And I’ll take it all to prayer. For since they are truly HIS children.. He will guide me in how to fit it all in.
