Do you ever get to Friday and think.. “Where did the week go?” The weekdays just fly by and ‘BOOM’, it’s Friday!
Fridays seem to cast a sigh of relief. A time to ponder what lies ahead. For us, it’s working on a garden project, attending a wedding, and maybe a date night trip to Disney. So, as I sit here pondering our upcoming weekend.. I thought I’d share with you my Friday Favorite Finds
Grandma Dave, A Disney Story & Coloring Books
I found this really wonderful story about Grandma Dave through the Organic Connections newsletter I receive via email.
Grandma Dave is actually Chef Dave Wells, a well known chef with some a very impressive resume. He’s cooked for George Lucas at Skywalker Ranch and Steve Jobs to just name drop a little.
That isn’t what drew me to this article though. You see, Chef Dave Wells became an even more impressive chef when he began creating a cooking program to help offset his mother’s chemotherapy for cancer. Using the knowledge he had from the Culinary Institute of America and his love for his mother, Chef Dave helped create healthy meals that helped his mother beat cancer.

Adult Coloring Books
I caved. I truly did. I kept seeing all these pictures of friends and bloggers who were loving this new trend of adult coloring books and the rebel in me said ‘no way, I’m not getting sucked into that..’
Weeellll... than the other day.. as I walked into my local TJ Maxx store, this beautiful book seemed to be jump into my cart. Yup, before I knew it I was purchasing this beautiful book of coloring pages and scriptures… I had been sucked in.
And you know what? I’m loving it!
I haven’t had a lot of time to really enjoy the book yet, but the few times I have.. WOW. What a great way to sit and just be still.. to just be quiet with your thoughts and enjoy the therapy that is coloring.
Are you one of us? Are you a color-er too? Leave me a comment and tell me all about it and if you have a favorite book.
A Disney Story
Disney World never seems to get old for me. The attention to detail in the parks, the fun merchandise they entice you to buy, and the adorable smiles on kids faces when they are seeing their favorite character for the first time are just a few reasons we enjoy going to the parks.
Yet when I see stories like this.. when Disney reaches out to those with special needs.. it just makes me enjoy it even more.
I saw this video the other day and knew immediately that I wanted to include it in my Friday Favorite Finds. I know it’s a little self promoting of Disney, but the in the end.. for those little girls and their families.. it’s magical.
How was your week?
