Over the Labor Day weekend, the hubster and I decided to take a ‘mini mini vacation‘ to Disney World.
I say mini mini because it was only one night. We had originally planned on doing two, but than realized that we could use that money elsewhere…. ahhh.. the wonderful world of budgeting.
Buy anywhoo.. back to Disney.
Anytime at Disney World is fun right?
Of course it is!
Thanks to my friend Sherri at Follow the Pixie Travel Agency, we were able to book a beautiful room at Port Orleans Riverside at a great price (and Sherri does this for FREE). This was our first time staying at this resort. It was beautifully landscaped and our room was nice and quiet… well, at least till the kids showed up..
I’m just kidding…. I LOVE LOVE LOVE it when our ‘kids’ come hang with us at Disney. Even though they are all in their 20’s, we all have a GREAT time together!
This picture always cracks me up too. My wonderful son-in-law was blessed with extreme height, so much to his shagrin.. he is always shoved in the back of ‘family selfies’. He acts like it bothers him, but we know he likes the attention.
Part of going to Disney this weekend was to be able to attend our very first Irish Hooley at Raglan Road! Not that Raglan Road isn’t already a fun place to hang out, but add a fun Irish Celebration and it just makes it even better. We feasted on delicious food and drink while listening to some wonderful Irish music!
The next day was just the hubster and I. We planned on spending most of the day at Animal Kingdom before heading home. We had a great time strolling around, riding some rides (got to love the Magic+ Fast Passes), and we even took in the new Lion King Festival. We hadn’t seen this show since our girls were little, so it was fun to see it again! The hubster even got to play a role.. we were the Elephant section, so he go to show everyone how to sound like an elephant.
I also enjoyed finding some cute ‘foodie’ type pins that are now my favorite and of course we enjoyed indulging on some yummy Disney food!
All in all it was great trip!
Even though we do Disney over and over.. it never gets old.
We are very grateful that we can enjoy this special place as often as we do.
Have a great weekend everyone!
