Friends Don’t Let Friends Exercise Alone

August 21, 2014 by Mikki Leave a Comment

I will be the first to readily admit that I am NOT a huge fitness nut.I have my moments in time, they usually last about a month or two, where I am very faithful and work out every morning. Yet most of the time I am a more laid back exerciser.

Lately though, I’ve hit a pretty good groove of a regular exercise routine.

Yoga and Elliptical 3 days a week and Walking 3 days a week.

I know, it’s nothing major like cross fit or Zumba, but it works for me.

I found an awesome Free Yoga app for my phone that walks me through 20 minutes of basic yoga positions. Eventually I’m hoping to bump it up to 40 minutes and learn some new stretches and such.

The walking though is my FAVORITE thing to do. Why? Well, it’s because I walk with one of my amazing friends!! We team up early in the morning before it gets too hot and get a good 4 to 5 mile walk.. either at her house or mine.

Walking gives us chance to take in all the beauty of Central Florida. It also gives us a perfect time to talk with no interruptions too.

Talking, laughing, praying, and exercising. We have a BLAST! I LOVE our walks!

You can see a goofy video I put on Instagram here about our walking.

Working out like this really helps me get my day going. I feel more focused and ready to attack the day.

I also always try to end a good workout with a good smoothie. Give me some soy or almond milk, so frozen berries, a ba
nana, and even some greens like spinach or kale, and I’m refueled and ready to go. Adding some kind of protein, whether from a good organic protein powder or something like Silk’s plant based Soy milk protein, always helps me recover fast.

How about you?

Do you LOVE to workout like crazy or just be more laid back about it like me?

I’d love to hear how you work workouts into your daily schedule, so leave me a comment!
