Since we started this Gluten Free Adventure at the beginning of the year, I have been looking for good Gluten Free cookbooks to add to my collection. There are a lot of good Gluten Free cookbooks out there, but some of them have REALLY extensive ingredient lists, which for my family, just doesn’t work because we just can’t afford it.
But thanks to the people at Andrews McMeel Publishing, I was sent a complimentary copy of Gluten Free Everyday by Robert M. Landolphi to review and share with you and it’s FILLED with affordable gluten free recipes!
I LOVE this cookbook! With over 100 EASY recipes, it’s becoming my ‘go to’ cookbook.
For a newbie Gluten Free cook like myself, I soaked in all the wonderful information that Landolphi had to share. The first chapter is called Gluten –Free Basics. I was thrilled to be able to sit down and read about all the different types of flours and starches that are called for in the recipes. Each flour and starch has a distinct flavor and purpose and this helped a lot knowing why is one is used in each recipe. He also helps the reader/cook understand the recipes and ingredients, kitchen equipment, and other great cooking instructions.
Then you move on to the recipes.
And what I truly enjoyed about this book was that I could find BASIC recipes. Like biscuits for Sunday dinner and delicious cookie and cake recipes to satisfy my sweet tooth.
For my monthly Book Club meeting, I decided to try out the Zucchini Spice Bread! OH MY GOODNESS!! This was so AMAZINGLY YUMMYLICIOUS!! No one even knew it was gluten-free and it disappeared in seconds. Moist and tasty… and YUMMY!
All in all, the Gluten Free Everyday Cookbook is a must for any new or even seasoned Gluten Free chef.
