This past weekend I hit the big 40!
But, I have to say.. turning 40 was a lot easier than turning 30.
Not sure why..
Maybe because as I ‘mature’ I realize that’s it’s actually pretty neat to get older.
Now, don’t get me wrong.. I’m not fond of the gray hairs or the weird noises my bones make when I stand up… but there are some really great things tied to getting older.
My friendships are so much more meaningful
My marriage just seems to get better and better
I can drink a glass of wine and look ‘sophisticated’ .. so they say..
My relationship with my daughters is going from that of a teacher to more of a guidance counselor
My Faith Walk grows deeper and my understanding of God’s Word becomes more personal
Sooo many wonderful things go along with getting older..
But back to the birthday celebration..
My AMAZING daughters and my AWESOME hubby TOTALLY dooped me and through me a Surprise Party.
To my girls credit, it was mostly their idea and they did most of the leg work.
I had NOOO clue..
I kinda thought they were up to something.. but my hubby, who usually isn’t that great of a secret keeper, did an amazing job with just taking me out to dinner and a little shopping while everyone got together.
It was GREAT! I came home to what I THOUGHT was an empty house.. but with a flick of the lights.. people just poured out.
I was too busy being SURPRISED to take pictures.. but I’ll share with you some of the goodies I got for my Birthday..
In the morning.. I got these from my girls..
From L – breakfast just for me, a yummy smelling candle, a new bird feeder, and CHOCOLATE!!
From S – some fun balloons, the You’ve Got Mail Soundtrack, Mr. Blanding’s Builds His Dream House DVD (GREAT MOVIE), a MOM mug, and a Beaker key chain ( I LOVE Beeker)
They also took me to lunch to this really cute Greek restaurant in town. YUMMY!!
On the way back we had some fun with my new Beaker key chain..
All in all it was a GREAT Birthday!
