Last week I posted about wanting to be able to purchase more healthy & organic foods locally and how difficult it is – do to where I live. (thank you for all your great comments by the way!)
Well, it just so happened that my daughters and I were able to take a little road trip down to Orlando a few days later and we were able to swing by a Whole Foods store!!!
This was VERY exciting for me because I’ve never been to one.
Orlando is about 40 minutes from my house – as the crow flies..
But as Floridian drivers drive.. it’s more like 60 minutes.
This being the reason why I don’t normally take a stroll down to Orlando unless we plan on being down there for the whole day. (Which usually included a trip to Disney World of course).
But back to my story..
For me.. this was like going to Disney for the first time.
I couldn’t wait to explore and see what kind of All Natural and Organic goodness they had.
I won’t bore you with all the great details, but I wasn’t disappointed at all with my trip.
I didn’t buy a whole lot because my budget didn’t really allow for it, but I’m really think I’m going to start a new budget category just for some monthly ‘Whole Foods’ grocery trips.
My daughters had fun checking out all the different items – including TONS of gluten free goodies.
In the end we left the store with a cute Whole Foods reusable grocery bag, 2 organic squashes, 2 bags of gluten free rice cakes, and some sprouted beans and lentils.
At the end of our trip though, I had to laugh..
Here we were.. in a beautiful store, filled with AMAZINGLY nutritious food, and where do we end up for lunch??
We just can’t pass up a good Chik-fil- A meal when we see one, and they built one right across the street from Whole Foods.
