More and more yard work.
Sorry.. we really haven’t done anything real exciting in the house.. we’ve just been focusing on outside.
As I’ve said before – two years of neglect has left us with a lot of overgrown and dead things to dig up.
Someone at one time REALLY loved working in the yard. They loved Hibiscus and tons of other different plants. Bit by Bit we are bringing it back..
Along the front road we have a beautiful line of palm trees. At the base of each palm tree there seems to be a circle of Hibiscus.
This is a far away picture and this is what they looked like up close
The overgrowth was taller than I am.. so let’s say about 6 – 7 feet.
I thought it would be fun to just jump in and stomp it all down.
This was fun.. until a black racer decided to slither out from under my feet..
Needless to say.. the surrounding neighbors got to hear how loud I can scream… and of course.. my dear husband thought that was the funniest thing..
But back to the yard work –
So over the past couple weeks we have been slowly chopping away at all this.
While Brian was tacking this job over the weekend, I decided to tackle the job of cleaning the front porch.
Now, if I had stopped and counted all the screens ( there are 14 in all) BEFORE I started.. I probably would have totally avoided this job.. but since I didn’t.. I plowed through..
While all the screens were out, I scrubbed down the frame work and the window sills. Ugh.. they were D I R T Y!!
I need to scrub the floor next.. but oh darn.. it’s raining this week.. so that will have to wait..
I do have to say.. the person who enclosed this porch and did all the screens, did an Amazing job. Each screen fit perfectly in the window frame, snug and all. They even numbered them on the bottom so when you take them off… you know where to put them back! Brilliant.. can’t say I would ever think of that..
As I was cleaning, I could envision REALLY cute wicker furniture.. a big swing.. outdoor rugs.. and even a cute table & chairs for eating outside..
But as most of you know.. that takes $$.. so it may be a while..
Thanks for stopping by Our Florida Bungalow..
