Being a housewife isn’t new to me.
I’ve been a housewife/stay at home mom for over 23 years now.
Not only did I stay at home to help raise our girls, but I also totally rocked the Homeschool Mom hat too.
It was fun.. It was trying.. It was special.. It was faith building.. and I wouldn’t have done it any differently.
After my youngest graduated, I had a lot of people ask me
‘what will you do now?’
I never really worried about what I would do.
It’s not because I’m lazy, it’s not because I don’t have any goals or lack of drive.
It’s because I believe, as does my husband, that what I’m supposed to be doing, is what I’m already doing.
I’m taking care of our home..
I’m taking care of my family..
and loving EVERY single bit of it.
Now, do I wear aprons and pearls while cleaning?
NO! Ha ha..I just thought it would be fun to ‘pose’ for a housewife picture…
But I do love to cook for my family (cooking is my love language I think ) and I enjoy taking care of my home.. cleaning?.. not so much.. but decorating and remodeling yes!
I think being a housewife gets a bad rap sometimes, but all I know is I consider myself blessed. God has allowed me to be a housewife/keeper of the home, for a long time and I am so very thankful for that.
I hope that I’ve raised my girls to know that they can do anything they set their minds to, yet I hope that they also know that being a mom and a home keeper, isn’t of any less importance than something outside the home.
And they can TOTALLY rock the housewife thing.. just like their mama!
(I guess I do wear aprons more than I thought.. LOL)
Like I always say..
I may not be doing this housewife thing perfectly, but I’m sure having fun trying!
