This week has been a crazy, but fun week so far.
We have our annual Christmas Open House party coming up this Friday! I’m so excited but feeling a little anxious today. I stopped by my e-vite account yesterday and saw that 47 people had RSVPed yes! Oh my.. ! Is my house that big.. NO!!
We have a great back porch (here in FL they call it a Lanai) that we can fit a lot of people on, so that will be the saving grace.
I got a chance this morning to sit down and catch up on some of your blogs. I miss being able to spend more time here, but here’s what I’ve been doing.
Decorating house – will post pictures on Friday when I’m all done
Cooking – I do BIG recipes of soups for our party. This years soups are
1. Winter Minestrone
2. Walk About Soup – this is a yearly favorite
3. Creamy Cheese and Broccoli soup
Another favorite for the party is cheesecakes. I make 2 new cheesecakes each year. This years are :
1. Christmas Toffee Cheesecake
2. Key Lime Cheesecake
3. Malted Milk Chocolate Cheesecake
All the cheesecakes are done and I have two more soups to go. I’m waiting till Friday to cook them because I have NO WHERE to keep them. LOL.
I wish you all lived close and could stop by. I’ll try to save some leftovers and take pictures to share later on.
It’s a lot of work to pull this off, but we have so much fun doing it. It’s our gift to our friends here.
My DH said since I’ve been doing so much this week, that he’s going to pack the car Friday night with two beach chairs, his fishing stuff, a good book and blanket for me and we’re headed to the beach Saturday morning. That sounds SOOO good to me. I can just sit, read, recover from the party and even sleep while he does his fishing!
Happy Thursday everyone!
