I was a little leery of this snack when I first saw it, but after a thumbs up from the hubster.. I think it turned out OK.
I decided to make because we are really trying to venture out more in our ‘eating healthy’ options and this looked like it would be a good way to get some fiber into our diet.
For my first recipe I used some New Orleans type seasoning. The hubster likes his things on the spicy side.. so there ya go..
These are REALLY simple to make.
1 can Chickpeas, drained
1 to 2 tablespoons olive oil
choice of seasoning
Toss the beans with the oil and than with seasoning.
Preheat oven to 350’ F
Place beans on cookie sheet and bake for about 25 to 30 minutes.
Keep an eye out though.. you don’t want them to burn.
Once done. Pull out, let cool and than enjoy.
These weren’t as crunchy like nuts (inside was still a little ‘beany’), but definitely a new snack to try.
The next ones I’m going to try are going to be some Honey Roasted ones for me. I’m more of the ‘sweet’ eater in our family.
