My youngest princess and I love to curl up on opposite couches and watch old movies on rainy days and Sunday afternoons. I love this time. I think it’s going to be one of those things I miss MOST when she goes off into the world.
My mom raised me on good ole fashioned movies. The ones when men were handsome, the women were beautiful, and the lines they said were funny.
One of our favorite actors to watch was Cary Grant. Now I have my youngest princess liking him too. I mean come on! This man is the definition of handsome! They don’t make them like this much anymore…
But which of his movies we like best? Well our taste differ on those. She prefers The Philadelphia Story while I prefer An Affair to Remember. She prefers Father Goose while I prefer Houseboat.
One that we both agree on is Mr. Blanding’s Builds His Dream House. Though our reason why we think it’s funny differ. She loves to watch Cary Grant try to figure out how to balance everything and I LOVE to watch his wife try build the ultimate dream home.
One of my favorite parts I just found on YouTube! I don’t know about you, but watching her describe how she wants everything painted always makes me laugh. I’ve been there, I’ve done that and I can so relate!!
His looks are classic. His timing perfect. And his voice unmistakable!
Do you watch old movies? What are some of your favorites?
