I’ve been trying over the past couple years to put together some ‘cute’ recipe books for my girls, but it just aint happening.
You see, ever since my girls were little, I’ve been trying to keep all of our favorite recipes together so that when God either marries them out of our home or starts them on their own career path, they would have their favorite MOM recipes to take with them.
But I just couldn’t do it. I have 3 overly stuffed binders that look ugly and VERY disorganized. This is NOT something I want to pass on to my children.
So the other day I was in our local Tuesday Morning store and found some REALLY cute recipe boxes.
I know recipes boxes are old school, but I am LOVING that I’m getting to fill them up with all our favorite recipes.
Each day I spend about 2 hours and type out recipes to print out. It’s not that time consuming and with each recipe, there are tons of memories that go with.
Although this will probably take me all summer to do, I’m having a lot of fun putting them together.
Here’s what I’m doing:
*First I found some recipe card templates on my Microsoft Word program and after tweaking them a little, I have a page set up that has two (2) recipe cards on one sheet.
*I type out each recipe, save it, and print two (2) copies on cardstock paper
*I cut out the cards and place them in the recipe boxes.
Not only am I getting these recipe boxes set up for my girls, I’m also getting all of my recipes onto my computer which will allow me to access them a lot easier.
What are you tackling today?
