Since our girls are grown and doing their own thing, the hubster and I are having a lot of fun venturing out to new local places that we haven’t been to before. So I figured it would be fun to start blogging about said ventures…
Saturday nights are date nights for us.
What that means is that we clean up, dress up,
and get out of the house for a few hours.
This past Saturday we decided to go get something to eat. I was in the mood for something ‘different’… though the hubster will tell you, I am ALWAYS in the mood for something different. He’s not complaining though.. he likes the adventurous spirit in me.. because it usually gets us to places like…
The Yellow Dog Eats Kitchen & Bar!
I Googled something like ‘best seafood in New Smyrna’ or something like that, and stumbled upon some great reviews for this place on YELP.
So we cleaned up, dressed up (well, Florida dress up), and took off to New Smyrna Beach.
Found on Canal Street, the Yellow Dog Eats is pretty new. Our waited Ryan said that they had opened up in June, I think, but with the crowd of people that were there.. you’d think they had been there longer.
They have seating inside, which included booths and stools at the bar, but we chose to walk through to the back patio where the really cool music was coming from.
With plenty of tables for people to choose from, the patio area is a really nice, laid back area to enjoy a beautiful Florida evening and some good music.
We picked the back table and were quickly greeted by our server Ryan.
After looking over the menu and getting some great suggestions, the hubster chose the Pulled Pork Nachos and I went for the Kitty Kat Sandwich (lettuce wrapped).
I apologize the pictures are not all the great. It was dark and I have an old iPhone, so I was limited. But take my word… this food was AMAZING!!
Delicious doesn’t even describe it. I even caved a little on my ‘non meat’ eating and tried the nachos. OH MY!! It was worth the cave in!
The hubster loved all the different flavors that were piled HIGH on this plate. Homemade salsa, cherry pepper rings, and a delicious BBQ sauce to name just a few.
My Kitty Kat sandwich was just as delicious. I really really enjoyed the orange Cointreau mayo that was on it.. I’m not even sure what it was, but it was good!
I could go on and on about the food, but the easiest thing to do would be to just say..
Go check it out for yourself.. I really think you’ll like it!
