Last week I took a WAY TO SHORT trip back home to MD for my mom’s 65th Birthday party.
It was a GREAT trip.
I missed the PEAK of the beautiful colors of fall, but I still got a chance to see what was left.
When we moved to FL I always said that I would be content seeing the fall colors in pictures – because with fall colors come COLD weather – and I DO NOT like cold weather.
But to be perfectly honest.. pictures don’t do it justice.
It is beautiful.
And this was the view from my sisters front yard.
It was a bit chilly. But I survived..LOL.
I had a wonderful time just being with family.
My mom had put together a FANTASTIC party.
Not only was she celebrating her 65th Birthday, but she was also celebrating her 5 Year Anniversary of beating Breast cancer.
My mom is AMAZING! She’s a Spunky 65 year old and prefers to do things her own way.
Cancer had picked the wrong lady to mess with too. She ‘kicked it’s butt’ and never looked back.
Her party was a benefit for the MD Cancer Society. All ticket proceeds and donations were given to them.
All her friends and family generously gave and helped her raise over $2,000!!
My mom LOVES to party too. And since it was around Halloween, it was of course going to be a costume party!
Her favorite movie is the Wizard of Oz and my sister and her friends came up with the idea that we would all dress up as the Wizard of Oz and surprise my mom.
She LOVED it.
All in all it was a great trip.
A great party.. great time with family.
